Guest Artist in their own Words: Norbert Meyn, tenor

Reflections on career so far:

High point: Singing a duet with Barbara Bonney at the Salzburg Festival, when I had to step in as a cover during the last week of rehearsals in Rameau "Les Boreades".

Low point: Missing the departure of a cruise ship I was singing on. (I managed to get on it half an hour before the performance from a pilot boat)

Norbert joins us in performance for the month of April, 2012.

Guest Artist in their own Words: Karen Stephenson, 'Cello

Reflections on career so far:

High point - playing Principal 'Cello for Sir Charles Mackerras in an amazing Wagner concert with the Philharmonia just a few weeks before he died.

Low point - having flown back to London Stansted from Madrid one morning, we had to drive all the way to Newport in Wales to do a rehearsal and concert - we were like sleeping lions!!!

Guest Artist in their own Words: Amanda Cook, classical guitar

Reflections of career so far:

High point: walking on to stage for my Wigmore Hall debut.

Low point: locking my guitar in a dressing room just as my concert was meant to begin and having to get the window smashed to get my guitar and do the concert!

Guest Artist in their own Words: Errollyn Wallen

Snippet in Errollyn's own words about her career to date:

High point: “Seeing a photograph of my album Errollyn floating in a shuttle in outer space. An astronaut friend had taken it with him.”

Low point: “Getting accidentally locked in a basement practice room for 11 hours in 2000.”

A Sense of Occasion

I can't wait to hear Errollyn Wallen perform for Classics tomorrow morning. Heard from Philippa that she has a wonderful sense of colour and fantastic taste in clothes. I wonder what she'll wear tomorrow?

On the other hand.... also wondering what I should wear to accommodate my post-pregnancy chubbiness.
